Rosemary is used to manage depression since it contains a compound which stimulates the nervous system.
It also has an uplifting aroma that can help counter the lethargy of depression.
Make your own uplifting rosemary tea by steeping a three inch fresh sprig or one teaspoon of dried leaves in two cups of boiling water for 10 – 30 minutes.
3. Saffron
Saffron’s botanical name is Crocus sativus and her street names include Autumn crocus, azafron, kashmira, croci stigma and zafran.
Saffron is an exotic Persian spice which is also very expensive with one pound retailing at more than $1500. This is partly due to the fact that only the stigmas of the flower are used to make the spice.
Studies have shown that saffron is effective for managing depression. Therefore add a stigma or two to your herbal teas to fight the stigma of depression.
