Nutrient Notes
Spinach is rich in vitamin A and vitamin C which have both been shown to prevent UTIs.
Tomatoes are good sources of vitamin A (beta carotene) and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which have both been shown to prevent UTIs.
Cranberries contain proanthocyanins which stop the infection causing bacteria from adhering to the walls of the urinary tract. As a result, they are flushed out of the body before they can cause an infection.
Yogurt with live cultures or probiotic bacteria like Lactobacilli has been shown to reduce UTIs in women.
