Dark chocolate is a great stress management “food” because it has been proven to raise levels of chemicals in the brain known as endorphins which are the body’s “feel good” hormones.
Dark chocolate also increases serotonin levels in the body and this results in a feeling of emotional well-being.
Dark chocolate contains antioxidants which lower blood pressure (which increases during the body’s response to stress) and thus helps reduce strokes.
These chocolate truffles are therefore healthy, stress-reducing Valentine’s Day dessert treats.
